    Jazmin Crookes, LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and Nationally Certified Counselor. I earned my undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and my Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Texas State University. Throughout my career I have worked in various mental health settings including inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care facilities, drug and alcohol recovery houses, a juvenile incarceration facility, a child and family bereavement center, several trauma therapy teen camps, and an Applied Behavior Analysis Autism clinic. My years of experience working with people of all ages and walks of life have shaped my counseling style to one centered on understanding, unconditional acceptance, patience, and positive encouragement.

I have extensive training in Child-Centered Play Therapy and Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT). I specialize in child development, child-parent attachment, and helping parents and children regain connection after trauma. Supporting parents and caregivers of both neurotypical and neurodivergent children and adolescents through play, fun, and holistic understanding is one of my true passions as a counselor.

In addition to CPRT, I enjoy helping teens, young adults, and adults heal from past trauma utilizing an existential, strength-based approach. I have training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and severe anxiety management. My approach to treatment includes teaching individual clients about the behavioral, emotional, and physical effects of trauma and psychological issues so that they can make informed decisions about what works for them and develop self compassion.
